Day 18 ~ Spring Challenge

***Something you wish you could change about yourself....

I first thought about...I am working on the losing weight thing. I just want to feel better about me. I want to do this for my children too:) I need to do this because my family history requires me to do this and take care of myself. Having babies (for me) has put a huge strain on my body. I would still do it all over again. I just would have been smarter with the first one.

Next, I tend to be the half glass empty kind of girl. I think it has a lot to do with my childhood. I am trying my best to get past this, I want to be the glass half full kind of girl. I don't like that all the negative thoughts attack first. I immediately see the worst of the worst and then if I am good I can switch it around and I run to God. My problem is that I dwell on it sometimes. I wish I could change that too. I am learning that I need to run to Him first. I just know that I am trying. I know that God can help me with this and He will:)

Days 15, 16, & 17 ~ Spring Challenge

First I have to apologize for being this far behind. I have had a crazy few days and now my little one has a runny nose:( So here we go....

Day 15 ~ Something you don't leave the house without, Why? I made a list...

*Children - b/c I would get in some real trouble if I left them unattended:)
*Glasses - b/c I am truly blind. I really need to go back to the eye dr.
*Wallet - b/c I need it.
*Diaper Bag -  b/c baby usually needs to be changed at least once and she does tend to get hungry:)
*Make - up - b/c I'm prissy.
*Cell phone -  b/c I might need it...what did we do before cell phones??? lol

I think that is all...I have been known to leave a couple of things behind on accident but I have never left my children..lol:)

Day ~ 16...something you miss about your childhood.

WOW! That is hard for me. I had a weird childhood. I will write about it one day but for now I would have to say going to my Grandmothers or my Aunt's house were  heavenly escape for me and I miss being able to escape to there now when I have a bad day and I need someone.

Day 17~ something that you crave....

Well the first thing would be COFFEE and second thing would be CHOCOLATE:) I love putting these 2 things together. Brownies and coffee is absolutely delicious! I love walking to the door of Starbucks (I go rarely) and the smell of coffee is intoxicating. I think if I could make a lotion that would be it coffee and chocolate..lol, just kidding:) I do love it:) I just thought of this clip...love this....

Day 14 ~ Spring Challenge

***...if I had unlimited resources....

First I would buy me some land....

Then I would put a big country home on the land..kind of like this one....

I have been wanting a few farm animals lately, so they would have to be there too...

laying hens
Daisy, milking cow

Shetland Ponies
baby piglets:)

I think I would want a goat, but I heard they eat everything! So I would have to think about it.

I would want some fruit trees, a place to have a small garden, a river, and a pond. I want my children to be children and learn as they grow. I think this is what I really want. I would love to do this. I think it would be hard work. BUT I would love to do this:)

I would love to have at least one more baby, but if I had unlimited resources I think I would have a couple more??? My husband doesn't need to know this one right now..hehehe. He would agree if there were no worries about money.

I would want a new car (to hold everyone with room). I would want to get my husband a new truck and a boat.

I would give money to the church and to different charities! Autism Society would definitely get some:) I would help out my parents and family. I would go back to school too!

I think that I could have a lot of fun and the possibilities are endless!

Zookies One-Size Cover Review and Giveaway!

It’s my Birthday (or Saturday was) and I really like to get presents. I love it when I open up a thoughtful card from someone who thought of me. So what better way to celebrate my birthday than with a giveaway?

I won a cover from Zookies back in December from the 12 Day of Clothmas that was being done by Cloth Diaper Addiction (by the way they are having a ton of giveaways this month). I fell in love with the first print and you can read my review here. I loved it. It is easy to use. It took me a minute to get used to using prefolds but I did and I like using them at home, (I am looking into getting some fitteds so these adorable covers can be worn out of the home.)

This is how it came wrapped:) I LOVE this print!

You can see all the snaps....Soft inside though, doesn't feel like plastic.

This is set on the smallest setting. You can also notice that is has 2 sets of buttons and they overlap for a sung fit:)

My prefold with a Snappi:)

LOVED how this cover fit her. She has a skinny trunk but chunky legs so this is perfect!!!

Booty shot:)

Side shot (sorry for the weird sideways shot) I promise it is NOT too tight on her little chunky legs:)

She was just too cute not to include a picture:)

I am honored to help Zookies spread the word about her new One – Size cover. I was able to pick the fabric for the diaper. I chose Cupcakes. I love that there are so many snaps. The smallest size fits her now. She is a little skinny through the trunk and has some chunky legs. I think that this one fits better that the fitted one that I won back in December. You can decide for yourself. I really like that it overlaps. The sewing job is awesome and I know that this cover will last a long timeJ

I didn’t have ANY leaks with this cover. She even had a #2 and this cover kept everything where it was supposed to be – inside the diaper! It seems really comfortable for my baby girl too! She is a little picky but didn’t complain while in this cover.

Zookies has generously offered a blessed reader a cover of their very own! You can take you pick of a OS or a Fitted Cover. You also get to choose the fabric!

Day 13 ~ Spring Challenge

***Where am I spiritually...in the valley or on top of the mountain?

I would like to think that I am climbing the mountain! I know that I am not where I started when I first began my walk. BUT I also know that I don't know everything and I can't wait to get to know Him more:) I can only hope that I allow Him to lead me. Where ever He may lead I will go there...whether it is through a valley or to the top of a mountain. He is my Abba Father and I trust Him with my whole heart and I know that He will protect me fully! He has plans for me and I want His plan for my life because it has t be better than what I have in my mind:) This is my favorite song when I think about this....

Day12 ~ Spring Challenge

***a photo of the town that you grew up in and what did you love/hate?

I copied this photo from here. The Link will tell you more history if you would like to read:)

I did like our little town. I went to a priate school here and I got my first job as well. My dad and his wife still live there. They keep saying that they are going to move but I don't think that they will. When we go through Buford (name of town) then I start reliving all these memories. When it snowed and my dad took us for a ride to see the town covered in white. Learning how to drive. My first job that I mentioned is also where I met my husband, I can tell you where we went on our dates and where we would go to our lunch breaks. Wow! at all the memories puring in now just thinking back...

This little town has grown up a lot! It holds a huge mall that everyone usually knows (The Mall of GA). That place is HUGE! There are 4 Starbucks within the the immediate area of the mall. Where it was just a two lane now has three of four lanes. Crazy! I don't get out there as much as I want to but I do love going back when I can. I think the only thing that I don't like is the fact that it is so grown up that the traffic is nuts. But all the memories that it holds will always be home for me.

Day 11 ~ Spring Challenge

***the greatest vacation that I've ever had...I have 2 that are neck and neck. I just can't pick one.

The first one would be when my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and we went to Gatlinburg:) I love going there. I was pregnant and the weather up there that December was extremely cold, (like 17 degrees was the high - which is cold to a Southern Belle...lol!) I loved it though. We walked around and went into all the shops. We had the worst hotel room that I had ever seen but we laughed through it and enjoyed everything. We were able to see the ball drop for New Years Eve and it was so exciting:) I loved this trip!

The next trip would be when we took Little Buddy to the ocean. We went to Mytle Beach and built sand castles and played. He was somewhat non-verbal before this trip and he seemed to open up to us a little more on while we were there. This is one of my favorites because of him. I knew that he enjoyed every minute and that is what matters!

Day 10 ~ Spring Challenge

***How do you like to pamper yourself?

When I do get the chance to pamper myself I love to go get my hair cut. It has been a very long time since I have done that...I've been letting it grow out. I love to have someone wash my hair. Where I used to go I would get a head massage with peppermint oil. It smelled so yummy and was so very relaxing. My hair is SUPER thick and so it would feel great after they cut some of the weight out of my hair. I love how soft it feels and I feel super girly:)

If I could make a day of pampering then I would do this....A massage followed by a haircut and then a mani/pedi. I think that would be the ultimate! (hint, hint, hint to my husband who may read this...lol)

Day 9 ~ Spring Challenge

***something that I recently bought and did it satisfy a need or a want....

Hmmm...this one is a little tough. First off I can't take a picture of it because my camera died. I will have to get out tomorrow and get more batteries.

I don't normally spend large sums of money. I bought a pair of jeans for myself this past week because I needed a pair. I just wanted one pair that I would be comfortable in for a minute. Plus this is my gift to myself since my birthday is this week.

Then I bought baby girl some more cloth diapers. Blissful Booty diapers at that! (scroll down to see my post on these diapers) I LOVE these diapers and I had to have more. The owner had posted a sale and I had to get more. I would like to get a few more diapers then I think that I will be satisfied with my stash.

The largest amount of money was spent on my son. We decided to home school and that cost a little money to do so. I am excited to know that he is learning and now making better grades than he has ever made than in school. I am so very proud of him.

Day 8 ~ Spring Challenge!

***The best advice you have received....

I am STILL working on this and most days I am good:) "Don't sweat the small stuff". I tend to let the little things bother me. I know I shouldn't, but I do. I allow people to annoy me (there is only a couple and it's not all the time). I am a people pleaser and I don't understand how some people can just be just outright rude. When "my" plans don't work out I get flustered. I could keep going about the little things but you don't really want to hear them all.

I am trying to do a lot more that just not sweating the small things but the big ones too. My favorite scripture: 1 Peter 5:7 "Casting ALL your care upon Him for He cares for you". He doesn't want me just to give Him the small things but everything. Every care: what I need, what I wear, my "unspoken requests", my hurts, my fears, my "I don't whys", all my questions, my brokenness, He WANTS it all. So now I don't have to sweat the small things because He will take care of them ALL!!!

Day 7 ~Spring Challenge

sorry this one is late:(  ***tell about your wedding....

I dated my Mr. for 6 months when we decided to elope:) I really wanted the "Big Traditional Wedding", but my father and step mother very much disliked my husband. They had heard a lot of rumors surrounding him and they thought that I was in danger. If they would have gotten to know him instead of pushing us further away then I would have waited for the big wedding.

Anyways, I rushed over to his house and I proceeded to get dressed (he wasn't there). I just didn't want my parents asking questions...I'm not a very good liar and they didn't know I was getting married that day. I then met three of my friends that I knew wouldn't tell anyone. They carried me over to the courthouse where I met up with my Mr. We said our "I Do's" and exchanged our rings and went to lunch with everyone that had met us there. We even threw the flowers afterwards...lol!

Then we rushed back to my house, because my parents were not home and carried everything that we could (that I had packed over the last week) out the door. Mainly it was my clothes and such. Then I left my parents a letter on my dresser. We unpacked the truck at our new apartment and decided to go eat. I then received a page (yes, I had a pager...lol) and didn't answer it because I suddenly was scared. Then they began to page my Mr. and he called them back. I was asked when was I coming home for the night and reminded of my curfew and I told them that my Mr. and I had went and got married. They freaked out a little and then hung up on me.

Now, today they seem to love him and love our children. I've even heard them say they love him more. They realize that they were a little overboard and that I did make a good decision.

IF I would have had the big wedding and all the thrills that go along then I would have....made my colors Pink, Black and White. I would have had the girls wear black with pink and white flowers. The boys would have had Black suits with gray and soft pink highlights (pink mainly in their flowers). I love lilies and would have chosen them as my main flower. I would have kept all the decor simple and shabby chic. I would have had a real wedding dress. I would have had my father walk me down the aisle.

There are a lot more "I would haves" but I still love the way that we were married. I think because we were married so quickly that a lot of people thought we wouldn't make it, but we have been married for 12 years. We love each other more today than what we did when we first were married.

Day 6 - Spring Challenge

Who was my best friend when I was 16 and where are we now?

The first person that comes to mind would most likely be Amanda. We went to school together, graduated, and still hung out:) I got married and had a little boy (little buddy) and she got married and also had a little boy too. We kept in touch over the years and last year we found out that we were both pregnant about the same time and we were both due about the same time. We then found out we were having a girl and she waited until the big day and she also had a girl. So our girls are 4 days apart:) It's neat to be able to call up someone who is your best friend going through a pregnancy and chat about our baby girls.

Day 5 ~ Spring Challenge

Something I could live without....

First,  I think about all the bad things that I could live without like mass destruction. My heart goes out to Japan right now. I couldn't imagine what it is like over there and the pictures don't really do justice. I could live in a world where things like this don't happen.

I then turn to things like lying, gossip, and fear. I could definitely live without these in my life. I don't like to hang with people that gossip or the ones that are contantly lying to you. If they talk about others then they will definitely talk about you when you are not there. I can live without people being fake. I can't stand it when you can't be yourself.

I could live without smoking. I am officially smoke free for a year now! YAY!!! I am so excited. This was something that was very hard to do but I have with the help of my Lord, Jesus Christ. He gave me the strength to get through all those rough days.

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Day 4 ~ Spring Challenge

***Something I can't live without because I tried....hmmm. I would have to say the most important thing would be Jesus. He gave so much just to say He loves me and I KNOW that I could never live without Him. I need Him too much and I would never want to try to live without Him.

Next would be my hubby. He is my best friend. Whatever my day holds for me I have to share with him first and foremost. I love him with my whole heart. We are not always perfect and I would NEVER claim to be but we work:) He can make me laugh and some days I need that!

Then my children. I am a stay at home mother and there are some days that I am ready to ship them far far away - you are lying if you don't ever feel that way. BUT I could never really do that, I would miss them way too much! I love being a mom and praise God that He blessed me with the responsibility of being a parent.

Finally COFFEE!!! I have to have at least a cup every day!!! I need the caffeine to keep going and keep up. The only thing...I am very addicted. Oh well! I have to have something right? lol...

Day 3 ~ Spring Challenge

A picture of what I ate today....

Koren Fried Rice with Meatballs:)
I love making this dish (I don't normally put meatballs in it). We have adopted a family in a church who are from Korea. I truly LOVE their family. She taught me how to make this dish. It is Korean rice, broccoli, mushrooms, yellow pepper, onion, carrots, potatoes, all together with soy sauce and some seasame seed oil...yummy! Yes it is worth every calorie. Plus when I make this we can eat on it for 3 days:)

Tasty Tuesday ~ week 4

Smores Snack Mix

I just told you that I have a severe sweet tooth...lol! I needed something for snacks around the house...new to homeschooling - post coming soon:) I looked into the pantry and came up with this...Smores Snack Mix. I toasted corn chex in the oven, lightly sprayed with canola oil and a little salt. When they cooled down I added marshmallows and chocolate chips. I put it in a bag and shook it up and yummy! My son has loved eating on this:)

Day 2 ~ Spring Challenge

There are so many things that I can tell you that I don't like about myself. I think all women don't really like their bodies. Mine has wieght from being pregnant twice and it just doesn't want to leave. Then I could say it's my fault too for having a severe sweet tooth. I guess what I really don't like about myself is I set goals in my head and then feel horrible when I can't meet those goals. I set the bar way too high for even me. I am working on this. I am learning to take it a step at a time. I hope that I can stop doing this to myself one day:)

Day 1~ Spring Challenge

Well, here is a picture of me...

Sorry if I look sleepy. It was late and the baby was finally asleep. I also just realized how little make-up I have on, oh well...

I like that I know how to cook. I love to be in the kitchen. I enjoy making cookies from scratch with my son. I love when my husband finishes a meal and comments on how delicious it was tonight. I like to put different things together and see what is the outcome (99% of the time it's good). I enjoy serving my family this way. I love being the hostess and having a lot of people come over and eat something that I made:)

I did it!!!

I love these little buttons that everyone has posted everywhere! They are so cute:) I have been wanting one for my blog. So after weeks of research..yes I am that technically challenged. I found one that I can do and understand the process! Want to see my pretty button?

Isn't that just the cutest! I drew the pic by the way. I love to draw. I just had to share my accomplishment with everyone:) If you would like to "post" it on your wall that's okay with me. I also figured out that little box too!

These sites really helped me with this:

Blissful Booty - I am in love!

I won a diaper from Blissful Booty! I was super excited because I am in need of more diapers:) I have also heard great things about this company. I heard that the owner was super sweet. I heard that these diapers were to die for - they are the softest diaper you have ever felt! I can now testify that both of these statements are true!!!
Isn't she just the cutest? I love this pic <3
Sorry the pic is so dark. The diaper is a creamy white color. (They come in creamy white and creamy green color...gender neutral :)) Green Ribbon has Blissful Booty written across it and an eco-friendly tag.
A picture of the inside of the most softest diaper ever!!!
Another feature favorite...the leg casings. They help keep in the poo and help to prevent leaks. Also super soft!!!
In this pic, you can see the little squares where you put the tabs when the diaper is not in use. I have washed and dried 3 times now and they stay put!
She is so thrilled to have a piece of heaven on her Booty:)
This is an AIO diaper, (my first AIO). That means, no cover needed, no inserts or fasteners either! This diaper is simple. I keep thinking that I am gonna have to stuff it...but as soon as it is dry it's ready to use. I have washed this diaper a couple of times and I think it gets softer every time! Plus the inside of the diaper doesn't pill either. This truly is the softest diaper ever! I have made every family member that has come into this house feel this diaper. One family member said she wanted one for herself...lol! This plush liner is not only the softest thing I've ever touched but it stays dry too! Baby girl had the diaper on from 9pm until 8am in the morning and even though the diaper was heavy it wasn't wet, (yes, I checked)! Just to let you know...I usually change her at least once during the night because if I don't she leaks by morning. She is what they would call a heavy wetter.

I have only one complaint....that I don't have a huge stash of these diapers! I want more!!! Seriously...if you cloth diaper then you have to try this one diaper. My husband has almost given me the green light to purchase at least 2 more, I am trying to talk him into 4:) I would love to try their wipe water too! I hear that it smells so very delicious! I might have to "sneak" that into my purchase somehow.

Every thing that I wrote was my very own opinion. I would not write such wonderful things if I didn't like this diaper. Really, I probably wouldn't write at all if I didn't like it. I was not paid in any way to do this review. I won the diaper and just wanted to share a wonderful product with everyone! If you would like to purchase one or just find out more then please go check out her website (click here) or find her on Facebook. If you want you can tell her that I sent you:)

Thirsty Thursday ~ 3

Little Buddy and I are studying Creation this week and then this thought hit me: "God nested too!" I had never thought about it that way. Here let me draw you a picture...

God's love story for you and me begins. He carefully considered where to place the Earth. If we are too close to the sun we would burn up and if we were too far away we would freeze to death. He had the idea to make it round. Maybe it's His favorite shape? I don't know...just a neat thought. He separated Day and Night to create what we call a day.

Then He carefully placed the heavens. He made the clouds for us. The beautiful shades of blue that He made. Have you ever watched the sunset? The amazing colors that God made! He separated the waters from the heavens so we wouldn't constantly have to swim. (lol) The beautiful waters He made indeed! All the oceans, the lakes, the rivers, and ponds. He carefully drew out everything for you!

Then He called for the waters to separate and land to rise up. He called the dry land Earth. He grew grass, fruit trees, oak trees, pine trees, maple trees, all kinds of vegetables, all kinds of fruit, all kinds of flowers, and ect. Not only did He chose the colors, He chose the taste and smells of each as well. He knew that we would like different things (free will) and planned to give us each choices of food, flowers, and trees.  He also had each of them create seed so that they may be planted to make more.

He created the sun, moon, and stars for us to marvel at how awesome He is. Have you ever been away from the city and looked up? I bet it was a thousand times better right after God made it the first time. He took time to make the stars, to  place each one. He could have said that the moon was enough but He wanted to show us more. He then expanded time for us, not just days but seasons and years. Now we are able to keep time on a much larger scale than just one day.

He made the whales, sharks, sea turtles, fish, sea horses, plankton, octopuses, and so much more. He wanted to show us what amazing things that He could create. He made the birds, dragonflies, bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, so we could watch them fly around. He also made the cows, horses, kangaroos, goats, frogs, cats, dogs, pigs, all the way down to the itsy little ant.

The He said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness...". He made man and woman. He wanted children too! He made us to look like Him! We may all look a little different from each other but we all look like our Father. We all have a brain. He may have made the animals but Adam named them. He gave us a spirit, this body is just temporary. It keeps us grounded:)

If He took 6 days to create a beautiful place for us to live just think about how beautiful heaven will be! I can't wait to see the place that He has been preparing for a really long time. The grass will definitely be greener...lol!

I am learning to marvel at how much God loves me! He loved me before my parents were even thought of, and loves me more than they ever could. I know that this is just the beginning of knowing how much He loves us....enjoy the video below:)

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

Little Buddy and I celebrated Dr. Seuss's Birthday today. We started our day with green pancakes and we even sang "Happy Birthday"!

Our "Birthday Cake" for Dr. Seuss.
Little Buddy blew out the candles...
Dr. Seuss books are awesome to read. I love Horton Hears a Who because it teaches my child that everyone is important, "A person is a person no matter how small". It also teaches to keep your word, "I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful, one hundred percent." Little Buddy's favorite book is Green Eggs and Ham, (thus the reason for green pancakes-he won't eat scrambled eggs). It teaches him to try new things, because you might like it! I haven't met a person yet that doesn't like the Grinch. So, what's your favorite Dr. Seuss book?

Tasty Tuesday ~ week 4

This week I absolutely had nothing in my house...or at least I thought I didn't. I knew I had to make something and I hadn't made it to the store yet. I stood in with the fridge open, the freezer open, and the pantry trying to piece together something. This is what I came up with:
yummy....
I needed to use the hotdog buns that I had so I used them like hoagie buns. Then I sauteed onions, terriaki meatballs and layered in some cheese. They were also very tasty with some ranch drizzled across the top! Presto! Very delious and simple:)
